With 21 seats up for grabs in this election cycle, Labor won eight, with seven for the Coalition, two for the Greens and one each for Legalise Cannabis, One Nation, the Liberal Democrats and the Shooters/Fishers/Farmers.
The final result saw Legalise Cannabis record 169,482 votes for a 3.67% share.
Labor and the Coalition now have 15 members each in total, but with a government member traditionally elected as president, Labor will be left on 14 and reliant on votes from seven of the 12 crossbench members to pass legislation without opposition support.
