Organised crime costs billions due to broken drug laws

NSW Premier Chris Minns agrees that illicit cannabis is a key driver for organised crime profits.

When I grilled the Premier in the Parliamentary Budget Estimate hearing, he agreed that organised crime costs taxpayers "billions of dollars" every year.

In addition, he heard that a senior police officer said sales of illegally grown cannabis were the "rocket fuel" that funded their other operations such as cocaine importation or gun running.

So why not change our insane drug laws and put a massive dint in the profits of organised crime? Legalise it.
